2017 Body Protector Standards Information
Note: If you are going to buy a new body protector for the up and coming season please be aware that from the 1st January 2018 body protectors with the Beta purple 2000 standard label will no longer be permitted to use in BRC competitions.
SHOWING
IN HAND
- Tweed jacket, waistcoat or smart sweatshirt
- Shirt and tie or stock
- Gloves
- Jodhpurs or trousers
- Hard hat required for Juniors and optional/ advisable for Seniors
- Optional short cane or whip to be carried
RIDDEN
- Tweed or Plain jacket
- Beige jodhpurs
- Riding boots/short boots and jodh clips if under 17
- Hard hat
- Short cane or whip
- No spurs to be worn by juniors
WORKING HUNTER
All riders to wear:
- Tweed Jacket
- Shirt and tie or stock
- Hard hat
- Body protector recommended
- Optional short whip
You must remove horse boots and body protectors for the showing phase.
SHOW JUMPING
All riders to wear:
- Navy/Black Jacket
- Shirt and tie or stock
- Hard hat
- Body protector recommended
- Optional short whip not exceeding 18 inches
DRESSAGE
- Navy/Black Jacket
- Shirt and tie or stock
- Gloves
- Optional long whip
If the weather is hot the judge may allow removal of jackets.
